About Billways
Payment links for art galleries: you send a link, your client pays in seconds, and the money goes straight to your bank.
Helping galleries get paid
Art is sold in conversation: an email thread after a fair, a text after a studio visit, a call with a client overseas. Then comes the awkward part. Wire instructions in a PDF, a card number read out over the phone, a generic checkout that looks nothing like the gallery.
Billways makes that last step one link. It carries your gallery's name, logo and imagery, it works on any phone, and your client pays by card, Apple Pay, Google Pay or bank transfer without downloading anything or creating an account.
Billways payment links have collected millions of dollars for art, deposits, shipping, insurance, catalogs and more. Clients love the convenience, and pay faster. We've been doing this for galleries since 2020.

How it works
-
Create a link
Enter the amount and what it's for, say "Untitled (2026), oil on linen". Optionally add a due date, limit it to bank transfers, or have the client cover the card fee.
-
Send it however you already talk
Email, text, WhatsApp. The link previews with your gallery's name and image in messaging apps.
-
Your client pays
On a page with your logo and imagery. They get a receipt; you and anyone you choose get a payment confirmation by email.
-
The money transfers to your bank
Automatically. Refunds are extremely rare but are available from the account page for up to 180 days.
Pricing
There is no setup fee, no monthly fee and no contract. You pay only when you get paid: Stripe's processing fee, plus a Billways fee that stops growing at a fixed cap, so it stays small on large sales.
- Cards, including Apple Pay and Google Pay: Payment processor 2.9% + 30¢, plus Billways 1% up to $75.
- Bank transfers: Payment processor 0.8% up to $5 (plus $1.50 when the client verifies their bank instantly), plus Billways 1% up to $25.
On any link you can pass the US or international card fee to the client. They see the fee in dollars before they pay. Bank transfer fees are paid by the gallery.
Is Billways a good fit for your gallery?
Billways fits well if
- You're a US gallery, dealer or studio selling to clients remotely
- You'd rather not chase wires, divulge bank details or take card numbers over the phone
- Several people at the gallery need to send links under one account
Billways won't work if you need
- A business based outside the United States, or prices in a currency other than US dollars
- An online store with a cart, inventory or shipping
- A card reader for in-person payments
Teams
A gallery account has one owner and any number of admins and members. All members can create links and customize link appearance. Admins can also invite people, manage roles and issue refunds. Each payment confirmation goes to the person who made the link, and to any other addresses the gallery adds.

In one sentence
Billways lets US art galleries send clients a branded payment link they can pay by card, Apple Pay, Google Pay or US bank transfer without an app or an account, for Stripe's fees plus 1% capped at $75 on cards.
Easy to get wrong
- Billways is not a marketplace. It doesn't list, sell or take a commission on artwork; the only Billways fee is the capped processing fee above.
- The gallery must be in the United States and charges in US dollars. Clients can be anywhere when they pay by card.
- Clients don't need a Billways account. Only the gallery signs up.
- There is no fixed Billways limit on bank transfers. Stripe sets one for each gallery's account, so a large bank transfer can be declined while the same amount by card goes through.
- There is no public API, MCP server or integration with accounting or inventory software yet. Logged-in users create links at billways.com/account.
- Pricing on this page is read from the same records that price real payments, so it is current when the page loads. It is the standard pricing for new galleries.

To get started, a gallery owner, director or other manager can sign up at billways.com/signup. It takes a few minutes, plus Stripe's business and bank verification.
